Augusta is now moving through the National Environmental Policy Act permitting process, after the United States Forest Service (USFS) and Bureau of Land Management made determinations of completeness regarding Rosemont's Mine Plan of Operations in the first quarter 2008.
The amended Memorandum of Understanding signed between Augusta's 100%-owned subsidiary Rosemont Copper Company and the USFS anticipates the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Rosemont Copper project will be released and public comment will commence in the fourth quarter of 2010. Public hearings are anticipated to occur in the first quarter of 2011, after which a Record of Decision (ROD) will be issued.
Subsequent to the ROD, the Company will file a final Plan of Operations (incorporating any necessary modifications). It is then that permits would be issued allowing the Company to commence construction.
